Potential Lake County Adult & Youth Concert Orchestra members should be prepared to demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge, experience, and skill on their instrument.
Much of this requirement can be met through a music teacher's recommendation, confirmation of participation in a school band or orchestra (for youth), proof of college-level musical studies (for adults), and/or a video or in-person audition.
The need for an audition is determined by the director and generally involves playing major scales, performing a prepared, level-appropriate solo selection, and sightreading.
The Concert Orchestra is an invitational performance group. Both initial and continued membership is at the discretion of the director.
